Mystery. Scandal. Intrigue. You will find all of this and more in the field of accounting. Did you know that the notorious criminal Al Capone was brought to justice not by the FBI, but the IRS? Or, that a middle level audit manager, working on a hunch in the middle of the night to avoid detection, found $3.4 billion of fraudulent accounting entries at Worldcom? It is my goal to bring accounting to life with real examples of how businesses apply (and sometimes misapply) accounting concepts and rules.

Experience

In addition to teaching at local community colleges, I work at a small CPA firm, focusing on small and medium sized companies and wealthy individuals. I specialize in financial and forensic accounting as well as acting as a part-time CFO for my clients.

Interests

I love to entertain, read and attend concerts. Because I specialize in financial accounting rather than tax, I am able to spend most winter weekends skiing with my family. During the summer, I enjoy bike riding and hanging with my kids by the pool.
