LBCC Art Gallery

The LBCC Art Gallery provides exhibitions and cultural programming that are not only relevant, but vital to our students’ academic, social, emotional, and cultural well-being. The exhibition’s held in the LBCC Art Gallery address issues of diversity, equity, access, and inclusion in a direct and meaningful way. Exhibitions, visiting artist lectures and panel discussions are organized to serve as a forum to engage with ideas that are critical to the social, political, and cultural lives of LBCC students, faculty, staff, administration, and the surrounding community.

2025 Juried Student Art Show

 A tradition of LBCC, the Student Art Exhibition features the most exceptional artists from LBCC’s Visual and Media Arts department.  A total of $2,000 in prizes will be awarded to three exceptional artists.  

 The Juried Student Art Exhibition bridges the gap between academic learning and professional practice, preparing students for careers in the arts while enriching the cultural fabric of the college and community.

About the Exhibition

Long Beach City College Art Gallery proudly presents, Hope Restored: Justice Scholars Student Exhibition. Curated by Summer Bernal and artist Alberto Lule, an Underground Scholar at UCLA and UC Irvine. The exhibition brings together formerly incarcerated, and system-impacted artists. The exhibition explores themes of isolation, abolition, liberation, and empowerment through self-expression. Artists focus on strategies for self care as well as active forms of resistance.
