March is Women’s History Month!
Celebrate Women’s History Month by supporting LBCC’s Softball Team. All students, staff, and faculty are encouraged to wear their favorite LBCC Spirit Wear. The pre-game celebration starts at 12pm and the softball game starts at 1pm.

Federal Work Study Hiring Fair

The Financial Aid Department will be hosting a Federal Work Study Hiring Fair from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m., Thurs., Feb. 27 in the LAC E QUAD. LBCC Departments will be hiring students for the Spring 2025 term, so please prepare to:
- Bring copies of your resume
- Be ready to take note of important contact information
- Dress in professional attire.
- Interviews will be held on-site

All are Welcome to ‘Affirmation and Poetry’
Mon., Feb. 24 , 1p.m.,LAC- P-1300
Student Health Services will present “Affirmation and Poetry” at 1 p.m., Mon., Feb. 24 in P-1300. Participants will be guided with writing prompts to create empowering poetry for themselves. They will also make a unique journal for self-empowerment that includes some of the poetry written during the workshop. It will be a session of reflection, creative play, and poetic expression.

FREE ‘Hack The Future: Long Beach’ – Sat., Feb. 22
You can grow your network, enhance your AI skills and go 1-on-1 with a chatbot at “Hack the Future: Long Beach,” a collaboration with SeedAI and LBCC to develop learners’ technical skills. The event includes an introduction to AI, a hands-on a red-teaming workshop, and opportunities to learn how to leverage AI for professional or personal growth. Hack the Future is for anyone interested in artificial intelligence, machine learning or cybersecurity, especially for beginners who want to learn in a non-judgmental and fun environment.
Black History Month: Sip N Science – Mon., Feb. 24

The Sip N Science workshop series is designed to engage the LBCC community in science, to show that it is fun and interesting for everyone through non-technical, science-themed talks that anyone can understand. Important Student Parking Information & Dates for Spring
LBCC now uses Virtual Parking Permits, linked to the vehicle’s license plate number. Parking Permits for Spring 2025 Semester will be available for purchase ONLINE ONLY, in your Viking portal. Parking is free in all student stalls at Liberal Arts Campus (LAC) and Trades, Technology, and Community Learning Campus (formerly PCC) between Jan. 27 and Feb. 16, 2025.
Permits will be required in ALL Parking Lots beginning Feb. 17.

Free Yoga Wednesdays Update
Every Wednesday, 12 p.m. - 1 p.m., LAC
All are welcome to participate in the Free Yoga class that will be held from 12 to 1 p.m.
- Wednesday, Feb. 19: in front of the Yoga Club Booth at Join-A-Club Day at LAC.
- Wednesdays, Feb. 26 through March 26: indoors in Q113, LAC.
All are welcome! To ensure a smooth and enjoyable experience, try to arrive 10 minutes early. Be prepared to present your signed waiver on your mobile device upon arrival and bring a yoga mat/towel, and water. Yoga mats will not be provided.

Realizing the impact of trauma on our student population and the effect secondary trauma has on our faculty, staff, and administration, LBCC is committed to recognizing signs of trauma in all community members and responding appropriately with evidenced-based strategies for building resilience and growth. LBCC aims to reduce community re-traumatization through training and workshops that have been recorded for you to watch at your convenience.
Campus Safety Escort Program Reminder
The Campus Safety Escort Program is available to the campus community during the winter term, Monday through Friday, from 6 pm to 11 pm to provide a safe, reliable, and time-efficient way to get around campus during the evening. To request an escort, please call (562) 938-4100.
