Long Beach City College’s Pacific Coast Campus (PCC), located in the vibrant heart of Long Beach, is celebrating its 75th anniversary with an exciting transformation.

To better reflect its mission and offerings, PCC will be renamed the “Trades, Technology, and Community Learning Campus.” This change marks a new chapter in the campus’s storied history, highlighting its significant impact on the community and its ongoing commitment to student success.

The name change aims to better reflect its primary focus on trade and technology programs, such as welding, construction, auto repair, cybersecurity, and space technology, as well as its commitment to free English as a Second Language classes and community education. This rebranding follows months of research, surveys, focus groups, and student input to enhance community engagement and align with industry needs.

“We’re writing a new chapter in the college’s history,” says Dr. Mike Muñoz, LBCC Superintendent-President. “Our name change is just the beginning of the innovations and expanded collaborations! The new name identifies who we are and what we offer, from career training to free adult education, lifelong learning, and English as a Second Language programs. It’s exciting as we grow and change to propel today’s students to the next level.”

Join us in celebrating 75 years of advancing education and accelerating futures at LBCC’s Trades, Technology, and Community Learning Campus, where we are dedicated to fostering learning, promoting inclusion, strengthening community ties, and preparing students for successful careers.
