Walter Hammerworld

Walter Hammerwold was a reporter and editor from the late 1990s until 2013. His work has appeared in virtually every paper in Los Angeles County, including The Los Angeles Times, the Los Angeles Daily News, the Daily Breeze and the Pasadena Star-News. As a sports reporter, he covered four Rose Bowls and wrote extensively about Olympic athletes. In 2008, he spent a week in Colorado, serving as an editor for The Denver Post in its coverage of the Democratic National Convention. He taught on a part-time basis for four years at Cerritos College from 2009 to 2013, where he was an Outstanding Faculty Award winner in 2012, and taught full-time at American River College in Sacramento from 2013 to 2016. He was named California Journalism Education Coalition educator of the year in 2015. He has been at LBCC since fall 2016.
