The Department of History, Political Science and Ethnic Studies takes students on a deep dive into the culture, civilization, and government through the ages. Ethnic Studies courses examine the historical, cultural, economic and political issues that impact marginalized ethnic/racial groups. The Global Studies courses teach students to evaluate and explain the challenges and opportunities produced by global interactions. The History courses teach students about historical events and literacy for insight into how our world got to where we are today and how we are moving into the future. The Political Science courses teach the fundamentals of government in the U.S. and abroad, as well as political science students may earn certificates of accomplishment to increase their competitiveness for government-related jobs that do not require a four-year degree.
