Global Studies

Overview

Global Studies

The Global Studies program provides students with the analytical skills for making sense of our interconnected world. Global Studies students develop an understanding of the economic and technological forces that have created a politically, economically, and culturally interdependent global society. In addition, students learn to evaluate and explain the challenges and opportunities produced by global interactions — including economic and cultural change, migration, environmental sustainability, public health, ethnic conflict, and global security.

In order to make sense of globalization, students need to develop a wide range of substantive expertise. Most academic programs focus on specific areas of knowledge.
