Plan Ahead for a Smooth Spring 2025 Registration: New Payment Policy

To support your academic journey, Long Beach City College is introducing a new payment policy for Spring 2025 that will help ensure a smoother registration experience for all students.

Key Points to Know About the New Policy
  • Registration Hold for Balances Over $750: Starting in Spring 2025, students with a balance over $750 when they register will have a hold placed on their account. This will temporarily prevent registration until the balance is addressed.
  • Early Action = Smooth Registration: We encourage students to stay ahead of their balances to avoid any disruptions. Taking action early can help ensure that you’re ready to register on time and secure your spot in the classes you want.
How to Avoid a Hold or Being Dropped from Classes

There are several options to resolve outstanding balances and keep your registration on track:

  1. Make a Payment: Pay your balance down to below $750 before registration or the January 21, 2025 drop date to avoid a hold.
  2. Set Up a Payment Plan: Convenient payment plans are available to help you manage your balance over time. Visit the Cashier’s office to get started.
  3. Apply for Financial Aid: Financial Aid may be available to help cover your costs. If you’re eligible, applying could reduce your balance and help you avoid a hold.
  4. Explore Student Loan Options: Student loans are another option to cover your balance. Visit the Financial Aid office to learn more.

Important Dates to Keep in Mind

  • Spring 2025 Registration Begins November 12, 2024. Be sure your balance is under $750 before registration opens to avoid a hold.
  • Spring 2025 Deadline for Drop for Non-Payment is January 21, 2025. Ensure your balance is resolved before this date to prevent being dropped from your classes.
